More Than a Training Camp: Building Memories in Mazara del Vallo
From the 5th to the 12th of July 2026, Strive Taekwondo Club proudly continued its long-standing tradition with its annual training camp in the beautiful coastal town of Mazara del Vallo, Sicily. Organized in collaboration with our valued partners at Taekwondo 2000, and led by the expertise of Coach Vincenzo Giametta and guidance of Coach Vito Marino, the camp once again provided an unforgettable week of learning, friendship, and personal growth.
This year was particularly special as we welcomed new young athletes from Malta who joined us for the first time. Their enthusiasm, commitment, and willingness to embrace the experience added a fresh energy to the camp and helped strengthen the bonds within our growing Taekwondo family.
Each morning, athletes took part in dedicated physical conditioning sessions designed specifically for sparring, developing strength, endurance, agility, and mental resilience. Evening sessions focused on technical and tactical training, where athletes benefited from the extensive experience and knowledge shared by Vincenzo, and the talented Sicilian athletes of Taekwondo 2000. Every session was challenging, rewarding, and filled with positive energy, leaving everyone tired, motivated, and eager for more.
One of the week's highlights was the opportunity to participate in a competitive exhibition alongside local clubs, where athletes gained valuable match experience using the electronic scoring system in a friendly and supportive environment. It was an excellent chance to test new skills, build confidence, and learn from every encounter.
Of course, the camp was about much more than Taekwondo. It was an opportunity to grow both on and off the mat. Athletes shared responsibilities, supported one another, and learned valuable life skills through teamwork and daily living. Together we explored the local area, enjoyed the sea and pool, experienced the rich culture of Sicily, sampled delicious local cuisine, and created memories that will last a lifetime.
Year after year, this training camp remains a cornerstone of Strive Taekwondo Club's philosophy: training hard, growing together, and building international friendships through Taekwondo. The success of this year's camp, especially with the addition of new athletes from Malta, reinforces the importance of these experiences in developing not only better athletes but also stronger, more confident individuals.
We are incredibly grateful to our hosts at Taekwondo 2000, Coach Vincenzo Giametta, and Head Coach Vito Marino for their hospitality and dedication, and we are already looking forward to returning for another fantastic adventure next year.
