Team Strive Returns from Elite Training Camp in Serbia

From 30th July to 6th August 2026, Strive Taekwondo Club once again had the privilege of participating in one of Europe's premier taekwondo training events, the Galeb Summer Taekwondo Camp – High Performance Edition, held in the beautiful spa town of Vrnjačka Banja, Serbia, with 34 countries coming together.

Representing Strive this year were Coach Mauro Busuttil, Luke Chircop, and Kendra Magro, who joined hundreds of athletes from around the world for a week of intensive training, learning, and personal development. The camp provided a unique opportunity to train in a highly competitive international environment, exposing participants to different styles, techniques, and approaches to the sport.

Throughout the week, athletes took part in twice-daily training sessions focused on sparring, technical development, tactical awareness, and physical conditioning. Every session challenged participants to step outside their comfort zones and raise their performance standards while learning from some of the most respected figures in international taekwondo.

A major highlight of the camp was the opportunity to train under the guidance of world-renowned coaches, including Dragan Jović, Dr Seyed Nemat Khalifeh, Dr Reza Imanzadeh, Stevan Rašić, and Uroš Todorović. Their vast experience at the highest levels of competition provided invaluable insights into both the technical and mental aspects of elite performance. The knowledge gained throughout the week will undoubtedly contribute to the continued development of our athletes and coaching practices back home.

Beyond the training hall, the camp offered the chance to build new friendships, reconnect with athletes and coaches from previous years, and become part of a truly international taekwondo community. These experiences are an important part of what makes events like Galeb so special, creating lasting connections that extend far beyond competition.

For Luke and Kendra, the camp was an excellent opportunity to gain experience, challenge themselves against high-level athletes, and further their growth within the sport. Their commitment, effort, and willingness to learn throughout the week embodied the values that Strive Taekwondo Club seeks to promote.

As a club, we remain committed to providing our athletes with opportunities to learn from the very best and to experience the global taekwondo community firsthand. The lessons, inspiration, and motivation taken from Serbia will continue to influence our training long after the camp has ended.

We would like to thank the organizers of the Galeb Summer Taekwondo Camp for delivering another exceptional event and for creating an environment where athletes and coaches can learn, grow, and strive for excellence together.

Team Strive returned home stronger, wiser, and more motivated than ever, already looking forward to the next opportunity to represent our club on the international stage.
