Strive Taekwondo’s 13th Annual Training Camp in Sicily: A Week of Growth, Sweat, and Family
From the 1st to the 8th of July 2025, Strive Taekwondo Club embarked on its 13th annual training camp in the beautiful coastal town of Mazara Del Vallo, Sicily. Coordinated in collaboration with our long-time partners at Taekwondo 2000, under the expert guidance of Coach Vincenzo Giametta and Head Coach Vito Marino, this camp has grown beyond a tradition—it’s become a family reunion.
Each morning from 10 to 11am, our athletes focused on physical conditioning tailored for sparring, pushing limits and building strength. Evenings shifted to strategic training, tapping into the deep well of knowledge and experience that Vincenzo brings, alongside his passionate Sicilian athletes. The sessions were intense, fun, and always left us sweaty and smiling.
A highlight of the week was Sunday’s competitive exhibition with four other local clubs, where athletes gained valuable experience using the electronic scoring system in a friendly, supportive environment.
But this camp wasn’t just about Taekwondo. It was about growth—both on and off the mat. Our group of 30, including thirteen athletes aged 7 years to senior level, bonded through shared responsibilities like cooking, cleaning, and setting up. We explored the region, enjoyed the sea and pool, tasted delicious Sicilian cuisine, and created lasting memories.
This camp continues to be a cornerstone of our club’s philosophy: training hard, growing together, and experiencing the world through Taekwondo. We’re proud to offer this opportunity annually, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s adventure.
