I started my Taekwondo journey in 2009 as a 17-year-old student looking to try something new. My first encounter with Taekwondo actually came a bit earlier—like many in my generation who spent hours playing Tekken, I was fascinated by a particular character known for his wide array of kicks and the occasional punch. Years later, I discovered that this character was inspired by a real martial art: Taekwondo. Curious and eager to learn, I decided to give it a try. I never imagined that decision would open up an entirely new world of culture, tradition, sport, friendship, competition, and coaching.

Fast forward a few years, I now hold a 2nd Dan and my greatest pleasure lies in watching and guiding students of all ages learn this beautiful and unique Martial Art. I believe that Taekwondo has a lot to offer to kids in terms of confidence, motor skills, cultural awareness, and of course physical exercise!

Outside of Taekwondo, I enjoy road and trail running, occasional bike rides, and spending time with my family. I hold a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and my professional background is in Network Engineering.

I began my Taekwondo journey in 2009, and over the years, it has shaped me both physically and mentally. I have always been drawn to the competitive side of the sport, which quickly became my favourite aspect.

As part of my personal Taekwondo achievements, I hold a Second Dan black belt. I have had the honour of representing Malta on the national team for several years, competing both locally and internationally. One of my proudest moments was participating in the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships in Manchester, where I trained and competed alongside Olympic-level athletes.

For me, Taekwondo is more than just a sport, it’s a lifelong commitment and a second family. Over the past five years, I have embraced the role of instructor, which has given me the opportunity to share my experience, values, and passion with the next generation of martial artists and athletes.

In addition to my involvement in Taekwondo, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and I am Counsellor trainee. This background allows me to support and guide my students not only in sport but in their personal growth as well.

I am proud to be part of Strive Taekwondo, where I continue to grow both as a martial artist and an instructor.

I am one of three sisters who began taekwondo over a decade ago. What started as a one-time hobby quickly became an inseparable part of my identity. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of competing at both national and international levels, including a career highlight, representing at the Junior World Championships in 2018, marking one of my proudest moments on the global stage.

Taekwondo has not only shaped me as an athlete but has also touched my heart in profound ways. From the discipline and artistry of the martial art itself to the incredible community that surrounds it, everything about this sport inspires me.

Beyond the mat, I have always placed great value on education. I hold a BSc in Medical Biochemistry and am currently pursuing a degree in Medicine. My dedication to learning has shown me the true importance of sharing knowledge, and it’s this passion that now drives me in my role as a coach.

As I take this next step in my taekwondo journey, I am committed to passing on the wisdom, discipline, and love for the sport that my mentors instilled in me. My hope is to help inspire and nurture the next generation of athletes—so they too can reach great heights in taekwondo.

The first time my friend told me to join her in a taekwondo session, after our dance lesson, I had no clue what I was walking into. Staying to watch one session, turned into participating in one, which quickly became an obsession. This obsession slowly turned into a lifestyle, a part of who I am. It has been over a decade since then and taekwondo still holds the same importance in my life. I have had the incredible opportunity to experience taekwondo on two different national levels, here in Malta as well as in Greece, and even got the opportunity to train and compete in an international level.

The harmony between the disciplines of taekwondo, the strategic and calculating aspects of sparring, along with the elegant and spiritual side of the martial art, have played a key role in shaping me, not only as an athlete but also as an individual. That all, paired with the impressive community that surrounds taekwondo have always inspired me, installing in me the want to strive to learn more as well as share my knowledge with others.

These qualities have even extended outside of training, in a way that made me always value education. I have currently just finished my A-levels and hope to further my studies in the areas of Physics and Chemistry. My commitment to learning has only reenforced my drive to share my knowledge, a passion that now drives me as a coach.

As I take this step in my journey, I am devoted in sharing the values of taekwondo with all the athletes, the same way my instructors did with me, so that they may grow to love the sport and achieve all the goals they set.
